Raincatcher is Proud to Be a Female-Led Business Brokerage

| March 2022

The business brokerage world is not known for being predominantly female. It’s not even one with a particularly strong reputation for female inclusivity. But Raincatcher is a business brokerage done differently. In celebration of International Women’s Day 2022, we are proud to share that we are a female-led company that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. Our mission is to break the bias of what being a business brokerage firm means and bring service and integrity to our field.

We work together as a team, of which 40% are female. They work as brokers, digital marketers, financial analysts, copywriters, executive leaders, broker support specialists, and more. At Raincatcher, equality, inclusivity, and especially honesty, are key to our success. We are here to serve entrepreneurs across the country, whether they are ready to build, buy, or sell a company.

Raincatcher CEO Marla DiCarlo was born into an entrepreneurial family. Marla worked at her family’s pet shop starting at age eight. She worked the cash register, helped with inventory, animal care, and practiced her sales skills. Her career later pivoted into accounting, which became the foundation of her empathetic approach to business leadership.

“It’s important for business leaders to have a balanced approach to how they run their businesses,” says DiCarlo. “Compassion, service, and integrity are the foundation of Raincatcher as not only a brand but the way our team members show up to work each day.”

Marla DiCarlo is an accomplished CEO, CFO and business consultant with more than 30 years of professional accounting experience. As Co-Owner and CEO of Raincatcher, she helps business owners get their business ready to sell so they find the best buyer and get paid the maximum value for their business. From 2000 to 2008, Marla worked as Director of Accounting for an M&A and Investment group that specialized in the purchase, capitalization, and management of real estate businesses in various sectors. While there, she was responsible for new business deals, investments, and financing. She worked with groups such as Credit Suisse First Boston, ISS Group, Venture West Group, and Madison Dearborn Partners. In 2009, she created a fractional CFO, accounting and bookkeeping business, and helped over 400 business owners.

In 2018 Marla partnered with Jason Thomas as co-owner of Raincatcher. Together they are equally committed to building a bias-free workplace where people of all backgrounds are welcome. In celebration of International Women’s Week, we’d like to introduce the strong women that are a part of the Raincatcher Team.

“I myself was raised by an entrepreneurial mother and understand the importance of female leaders in business. At an early age, I experienced the incredible impact female leaders can have on businesses, which is why I am so proud to be partners with Raincatcher CEO, Marla DiCarlo, and employ nearly half of a female team. I strongly believe having diversity in the workplace improves problem-solving, creates a wider perspective for the entire organization, and builds a stronger culture,” says Thomas.
